Solange Azagury-Partridge
Solange Azagury-Partridge is a British jewellery and interiors brand built around the work of its self-taught founder. Azagury-Partridge designed her first jewellery piece, her engagement ring, in 1987 and established the eponymous business in 1995 by opening a shop on London’s Westbourne Grove. The brand grew from work made in her west London basement into a recognised fine-jewellery label, with early sales reinvested in further work. Its jewellery is characterised by sensual, humorous and irreverent forms, Pop Art references, and unusual treatments of rough-cut gems, sliced diamonds and coloured stones. The Hotlips ring began in 1995 as a lipstick-inspired design, and its Classic Red version entered the Victoria and Albert Museum’s permanent jewellery collection in 2008. From 2001 to 2004, Azagury-Partridge served as creative director of Boucheron before focusing on her own line. After partnering with Labelux in 2008, she regained full ownership in December 2012 when the group sold its stake back to her. Fragrance is a secondary extension, including Stoned, introduced in 2006, and Cosmic, which followed in 2007.
