Fragrance house
Solstice Scents
Solstice Scents began serving the Gainesville, Florida area in 2004, offering soaps, lotions, salts, candles, body oils, incense powders, and textile aromatherapy items. Established by Gregory and Angela St. John and based in Alachua, Florida, the brand evolved from a handcrafted bath-and-body business into an independent, fragrance-focused small-batch perfumery. Angela St. John is the perfumer behind its fragrances. The house retains in-house label design, hand-applied labels, and handwritten fragrance labeling, while its work draws inspiration from natural landscapes around Gainesville, including Devil’s Millhopper and San Felasco Hammock Preserve. Its olfactory identity is associated with atmospheric, place-evoking effects such as rain, decaying autumn leaves, seaside coniferous forest, and smoky wood-stove accords, alongside gourmand, amber-spice, incense, floral, forest, and seasonal styles.
