Sonoma Scent Studio
Founded in 2004 by Laurie Erickson, Sonoma Scent Studio began as her personal interest in essential oils and fragrance study before becoming a business in Sonoma County, California. The brand’s creative identity is nature-inspired and connected to California’s outdoors, fragrant plants, and artisan products, with compositions made using natural and mixed-media materials. In 2007, Erickson shortened and reorganized the range, discontinuing several gourmand scents and concentrating on more distinctive blends. Her perfume Bee’s Bliss was a finalist in the Artisan category of the 2018 Art and Olfaction Awards. Erickson closed the business in early 2018 for family and health reasons and later sold it; on June 12, 2019, she announced that Sonoma Scent Studio had new ownership. The current owner, Brenda Benson, studied perfumery through the Institute for Art and Olfaction and other workshops and intends to continue Erickson’s legacy as an artisan perfumer.
