Sorce

Sorce was founded by Caitlin Hayes, a self-taught perfumer who began creating fragrances after discovering indie perfume in 2020. The brand opened in May 2022 as Sorcellerie Apothecary, began transitioning to the shortened name Sorce in January 2024, and became Sorce officially in June 2024. The renaming preserved an association with the Latin-rooted sors, meaning fate, while reflecting an interest in unusual handmade fragrances and perfumery as a global art form. Hayes formulates Sorce’s scents and approaches perfume as artistic expression, presenting the fragrances as wearable art and a means of self-expression. Its olfactory focus includes vanilla, fruit, and gourmand styles, developed in response to Hayes’s interest in bright, bold, playful fragrances. Hayes is Sorce’s founder and owner.
