Soular Therapy
Kevin Elkins began marketing candles in 1994 under the company name Divino, marking the start of his fragrance business. Soular Therapy was established in 1999 to formulate fragrances, growing from soy candles inspired by astrological aromatherapy into a scent company creating signature fragrances and bespoke environments for homes, hotels, spas, boutiques, commercial spaces, and wellness settings. The candles appeared early in Vogue and were sold through boutiques including Anthropologie. In 2011, former co-owner Andrew Goodman sold his share to Elkins, making Elkins the sole owner. As owner and creative scent maker, Elkins develops projects from narratives shaped by architecture, culture, history, landscape, and travel. In 2001, W Hotels selected a fragrance designed by Elkins as the group’s signature scent; Soular Therapy identifies Citron No. 5 as its first olfactory logo, created for W properties worldwide. For Hotel Emma, Elkins later created the seasonal fragrances Milagros and Recuerdos with the hotel’s creative team, expressing the history and material character of its former brewery site.
