SPO

SPO was founded in 2016 by German pharmacist and self-taught perfumer Sven Pritzkoleit. He developed the house around childhood scent memories, woods, animalic materials, and a blend of vintage-style classic perfumery with newer molecules. Its debut, presented at Düsseldorf’s Global Art of Perfumery in 2016, comprised the Essential Collection of five fresh and five woody scents. The brand also collaborated with Miguel Matos on the SP Private Perfume series, including Suntanglam, Lisbon Blues, and Funfair, inspired partly by Matos’s Portuguese roots and memories of Algarve beach life. Powder & Dust, created by Pritzkoleit and Yana Lysenko, won the 2019 Art & Olfaction Award in the Artisan category. In December 2020, SP Parfums announced its discontinuation, while Powder & Dust was sold to Zoologist for a planned 2022 relaunch. Civette Intense was one of Pritzkoleit’s signature scents and impressed Matos when they met.
