Spoturno

Spoturno Paris was created by Véronique Spoturno to perpetuate the olfactory work of her great-grandfather, François Spoturno dit Coty, whom the house identifies as a founder of modern perfumery. Born in Ajaccio, Corsica, on 3 May 1874, François Spoturno adopted the name Coty in 1904, adapting his mother’s surname by changing its final letter for international use. The contemporary house brings together family heritage, modernity, artistic collaboration and freedom of creation, framing its work between haute parfumerie and auteur perfumery. Its fragrance story took shape with Spoturno 1921, launched in 2021 after Véronique found the formula in her great-grandfather’s archives and Christopher Sheldrake adapted it for contemporary wear. Sheldrake is entrusted with the house’s creations, while the wider historical legacy is associated with the chypre family and amber-centered fragrances built around a vanillin-and-natural-material accord.
