Stéphanie de Saint-Aignan

Stéphanie de Saint-Aignan was a Parisian perfumer who studied at ISIPCA in Versailles before creating her independent eponymous fragrance project in 2006. The brand treated perfume as narrative, drawing on travel, memories, dreams, literature, and imagined stories, with collections conceived in an annual, fashion-like format. Its clearest documented fragrance legacy is its seven-fragrance debut collection, launched in 2007; a shorter second collection followed in 2008. Financial help from Chinese family investors supported the 2008 collection, after which Saint-Aignan gave up the brand to Chinese investors for debts. The registered company Stéphanie de Saint Aignan Parfums Paris entered simplified judicial liquidation in January 2011, and the procedure closed for insufficient assets on 8 November that year.
