Steve Madden is a New York-rooted fashion brand shaped by music and street culture, with individuality and footwear-led fashion at the center of its identity. Steven Madden, Ltd. completed its initial public offering on Nasdaq in December 1993. After his release in 2005, Steve Madden rejoined the business as creative director, restoring his direct role in shaping the brand’s design identity. On October 5, 2010, the company acquired substantially all of Betsey Johnson LLC’s intellectual property, including the Betsey Johnson and Betseyville trademarks, expanding its portfolio beyond the namesake label. On May 6, 2025, Steven Madden, Ltd. completed its acquisition of UK-based Kurt Geiger, adding Kurt Geiger London, KG Kurt Geiger, and Carvela to the company’s portfolio.
