Sultan Pasha Attars
Sultan Pasha Attars reflects the work of London-based independent perfumer Sultan Pasha, who grew up between Bangladesh and London and first encountered perfumery through his grandparents’ attar collection. After studying chemistry, he began working with perfume ingredients in 2012 and created his first attar, Shadee. He started composing in 2013, and by early 2014, demand from samples included with eBay orders and discussion on Basenotes enabled him to leave banking for perfumery full time. The house centers its creative identity on attars and emotionally expressive olfactive poetry, combining rare natural absolutes and essential oils with minimal necessary synthetics. Its approach draws on French, Middle Eastern, and South Asian traditions, as well as classical French perfumes and Pasha’s personal memories. His work has also included Zoologist’s Sacred Scarab, an alcohol-based perfume inspired by ancient Egyptian perfumery and kyphi incense. On June 18, 2025, he introduced four alcohol-based Extrait de Parfum compositions under the Sultan Pasha Perfumes label. Irisoir, a tribute to Jacques Fath’s Iris Gris, was described in 2018 as one of his most popular and beloved attars.
