Suomy
Founded in Italy in 1997, Suomy began as a racing-helmet brand closely tied to motorcycle competition. A 2000 partnership with Ducati brought its helmets into the Superbike World Championship, and Troy Bayliss won Suomy’s first world title in 2001. The brand later expanded into off-road, sport-touring, and urban helmets while retaining racing as a central part of its identity. In 2014, Suomy was acquired by a private investment fund and subsequently collaborated with Indonesian helmet brand KYT. Production moved overseas, while design, research and development, marketing, and sales remained in Italy. Suomy described 2019 as a new era following the worldwide introduction of the SR-GP racing helmet, developed with MotoGP and road-racing riders involved from the concept stage. In November 2022, Francesco Bagnaia won the MotoGP World Championship wearing an SR-GP. Suomy also briefly extended into fragrance in 2007 with the Suomy Rider 65, Rider 52, and Rider 155 eau-de-toilette line, whose graphics referenced its helmet designs.
