Surrender to Chance

Surrender to Chance is a fragrance-sampling and decanting company formed by Patty White and Lisa Lawler in April 2012, after they separated from their previous business partnership, TPC. The brand traces its origins to a trip to Morocco and embraces openness to unexpected fragrance discoveries. Its sampling roots extend more than two decades, beginning with eBay and a predecessor company. White and Lawler remain the company’s two owners. In 2014, Surrender to Chance created its first two exclusive fragrances, Surrender and Cold Water Canyon, in collaboration with perfumer Dominique Dubrana, also known as AbdesSalaam Attar. The pair offered contrasting interpretations of jasmine: Surrender was conceived as a jasmine-focused wedding scent, while Cold Water Canyon took a greener, more herbal approach. Together, these milestones describe a business built around making perfume exploration accessible through small-format discovery and carefully selected fragrance experiences.
