Fragrance house
Swiss Arabian UAE
Swiss Arabian was established in Dubai in 1974 by Hussein Adam Ali and is identified as the first perfume house in the UAE. Originally from Yemen, Ali drew early inspiration from frankincense, oud, bakhoor, and his mother’s bakhoor-making tradition. The name reflects the house’s combination of Swiss perfumery collaboration and Arabian identity, while its creative identity brings Arabian fragrance traditions together with Swiss technique and innovation. Its current direction retains Arabian heritage alongside modern innovation, including gender-fluid positioning, new collections, and new formats. The first reported perfume was Devina, an early feminine oil blend, while Jannet El Firdaus served as a flagship product for ten years from 1984. Swiss Arabian received FiFi awards in Arabic women’s fragrance in 2011 and 2012 and Arabic men’s fragrance in 2013, then introduced a new logo and visual identity in 2016. Its fragrance legacy includes Jannet El Firdaus as an intergenerational heritage icon and Shaghaf Oud as a global bestseller that helped introduce millions of people to oud.
