Synonyme

Founded in 2021 by an international team of thinkers, designers, and perfumers, Synonyme is a Russian niche fragrance brand centered on complex human nature and the interaction between scent and the wearer’s character. Its stated format is Extrait de Parfum, associated with concentrated compositions and the quality of fragrance materials. By March 2024, Synonyme’s public creative model was described as an anti-brand approach, expressed through minimalist presentation and limited emphasis on house history. The brand’s early fragrances used numbered names associated with or alluding to perfumers including Quentin, Francis, Alessandro, Paolo, and Olivier, creating an homage-oriented concept distinct from a conventional perfumer-led house. Its fragrances also include collaborations involving Alain Alchenberger and Marc Daniel Heimgartner.
