Fragrance house
Tartine et Chocolat
Tartine et Chocolat was founded in 1977 by Catherine Painvin. What began as a children’s clothing brand expanded into children’s rooms, soft toys, and fragrance, forming a broader children’s lifestyle universe. Its visual language includes the Garda stripe, a recurring motif that originated in the founder’s family fabric shop and appeared across clothing, nursery, and soft-toy lines. In April 2004, Painvin transferred the brand to Roger Zannier for the Zannier Group; it is currently described as owned by that group. After the takeover, Émilie Zannier became its creative and strategic figure, giving the house a new direction while retaining its established image. The brand’s identity is associated with French elegance, refinement, quality materials, careful finishes, simplicity, authenticity, and emotional links to early childhood. Its fragrance history began with Ptisenbon, launched in 1987 in collaboration with Givenchy as its first baby fragrance. The scent is described as a gentle floral built around honeysuckle, lily of the valley, and jasmine.
