Tayshaba

Tayshaba is a Paris-based fragrance house founded by Maiada El Khalifa, whose training in olfactive design spans Grasse and Paris. The house grew from El Khalifa’s reworking of ancient Sudanese perfume recipes through French perfumery, connecting Sudanese heritage with Parisian craft. Its identity centers on self-expression, independence, art, ancestry, and cultural connection; its name combines references to an ancestral freedom-fighting tribe and Aba Island on the White Nile, while its visual language draws on the Nile’s waves. El Khalifa is the brand’s founder and perfumer, and her Sudanese family heritage, including ancestry connected to independence fighters, shapes its creative direction. Ahmar Danse is presented as Tayshaba’s signature scent and is linked to a Sudanese bridal dance tradition traced to the Kingdom of Kush. Myrrh is also identified as a key ingredient and historical motif in the collection, connecting Kushite ancestry with African incense routes, the Levant, and the Silk Road.
