Teresa Helbig

Founded in Barcelona in 1996, Teresa Helbig grew from designer Teresa Helbig’s work with her mother, dressmaker Teresa Blasco. Helbig’s first significant dress, created with more than 800 feathers for a wedding, prompted her first collection. The house’s established identity centers on made-to-measure couture and occasionwear, with garments handcrafted through an atelier-based process. Its slow-fashion approach combines production by order with the reuse of leftover materials, long-lived garments, and collaboration with local artisans. In 2023, Helbig received Spain’s National Fashion Design Award, recognizing her career, artistic quality, international relevance, training of new professionals, and incorporation of craft into contemporary Spanish design. In 2025, the house introduced Acto 2, its first complete prêt-à-porter collection, extending its couture language into ready-to-wear while retaining made-to-measure work as its core. The brand marked its 30th anniversary in 2026 with the Savage Swans collection and a retrospective exhibition at Madrid’s Museo del Traje.
