The Greek Perfumer

The Greek Perfumer was created in Athens in 2018 by perfumer George Papachatzis, initially under the name Jour Naper. By May 2024, the former Jour Naper brand was publicly identified as The Greek Perfumer, documenting its rebrand. Its creative identity draws on Greek mythology, ancient Greek culture, lived Greek scents, and the energy of contemporary Athens. Aphrodite serves as its emblem and recurring creative reference. Papachatzis trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and also studied or attended programs at Gallimard in Grasse and Fragonard in Paris; his approach uses rare essential oils, Mediterranean flowers and herbs, and exotic fruits, woods, and resins to embody contemporary Greek culture. The Goldess Aphrodite Collection, completed after three years of research and creation, combined French perfumery know-how with references to ancient Greece and modern Athens. Varonos, Papachatzis’s first perfume concept, was created during his ISIPCA studies and became part of the Jour Naper collection.
