The Healing Garden

The Healing Garden was launched by Coty in 1997 as a mass-market specialty-bath line built around plants, essential oils, and aromacology. Its original identity combined nature and science, placing essential-oil-based products within the emerging aromatherapy category in mass retail. By 2004, the brand had helped establish the specialty-bath category and was being extended into related treatment categories. Ascendia Brands completed its acquisition of The Healing Garden’s brand, licenses, and assets on February 9, 2007; after Ascendia filed for Chapter 11 protection in 2008 amid financial strain associated with a Healing Garden relaunch, PDC Brands acquired the brand from Ilex Consumer Products Group in January 2013. On July 6, 2017, Yellow Wood Partners sold PDC Brands to CVC Capital Partners, with The Healing Garden among PDC’s owned bath-and-body brands. The brand’s fragrance legacy includes The Healing Garden Waters, winner of the 2002 Women’s Fragrance of the Year—Mass Appeal award, and Waters Sheer Passion, which received the corresponding 2003 award.
