The House of Oud
The House of Oud launched in 2016 from the friendship and collaboration of Italian master perfumer Andrea Casotti and Jakarta oud producer Mohammed Abu Nashi. Conceived as a house for ideas and inspirations from around the world, it brings together art, perfume, travel, engineering, and oud expertise. Casotti is its central creative figure, combining engineering, street art, and perfumery in work framed as new stories and explorations of beauty and raw materials. Its early fragrance structure included Desert Day and Klem Garden, followed by the THoO collection, whose direction draws on art, music, painting, patisserie, nature, and life. Oud remains a recurring theme: the house treats it as a bridge between ingredients rather than a note that must dominate every composition. The Crop collection develops that idea through annual tributes to the oud harvest, with each edition shaped by that season’s climate and conditions. Its hand-finished oval or egg-shaped bottles, made through techniques such as dipping, marbling, crackle glazing, and hand painting, make each flacon distinct. HIC Beauty is listed as the brand’s parent company.
