The Lab Fragrances
The Lab Fragrances is a Singapore-based niche perfume house founded in 2017 by Taylan Torin. Its origin dates to an agarwood fragrance Torin created as wedding door gifts; the guests’ response prompted the house’s creation, and Agarwood is its pioneer fragrance. The privately held company is owned by Torin, who is also the collection’s artistic director. Its approach combines uncommon scents, ingredient transparency, minimalist functional design, small-batch hand blending, personalization, and vegan formulations. The collection follows ASEAN, EU, and IFRA safety standards and discloses perfume ingredients and their sources. Earl Grey is the brand’s best seller. In November 2024, The Lab Fragrances introduced Black Tea, which it presented at Esxence in 2025, with a black-tea, wood, and tobacco direction.
