The Perfume Co. Africa

The Perfume Co. Africa was founded in August 2021 by Bathabile Moreki, emerging during the COVID-19 period after she diversified from franchise restaurants into pandemic-related products and then perfume. Moreki brought experience spanning retail, franchising, network marketing, business development, sales, and marketing. Proudly black-owned and locally manufactured, the brand produces oil-based fragrances inspired by designer brands while combining fragrance sales with entrepreneurship development through distribution, mentorship, and a franchise model. Within its first year, it reported more than 5,000 distributors across South Africa and parts of Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Botswana. In 2023, Moreki was a finalist in the Veuve Clicquot Bold Future Award, and in May 2024 the company relaunched its multi-level-marketing programme.
