Fragrance house
The Zoo
The Zoo launched in 2017 as Christophe Laudamiel’s first own fragrance brand. Created around the idea that fragrances are living creatures requiring care, it treats perfume as more than a static composition. Its fragrances were organized into four habitats—Fresh, Sexy, Forbidden, and Raw—while early works such as Scent Tattoo, Club Design, Amber Classico Modern, and Spacewood explored concepts that challenge conventional perfume categories and perception. Laudamiel is the brand’s defining perfumer and creative figure, composing its fragrances. Club Design won the 2018 Art and Olfaction Award in the Artisan category. The fragrance also illustrates The Zoo’s approach to identity: the same oil and concentration appeared as Scent Tattoo under a different concept and label, presented as a garment fragrance. In 2017, Laudamiel received the Institute for Art and Olfaction’s Contribution to Scent Culture Award.
