Fragrance house
Theo & Amelia
Theo & Amelia’s trademark record dates its first use anywhere and in commerce to September 1, 2019. Anthony Tori is identified as the brand’s founder and owner, while its name references American explorers Theodore Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart. The brand began with travel fragrances inspired by experiences in Japan, Thailand, and the ocean. In 2020, its stated direction focused on all-natural fragrances and consumer education around scent triggers and functional fragrance. That direction later developed into kimorii, a collection built around the calming scent of Japanese hinoki wood and intended for routines involving focus, rest, and sustainable performance. Theo & Amelia attributes kimorii to Tori’s discovery of hinoki oil during a trip to Japan after burnout, followed by direct work with a supplier to build the collection. Today, hinoki and kimorii define the brand’s current fragrance identity and its focus on calm-oriented scent routines.
