Thierry Lemahieu

Thierry Lemahieu is the founder and designer associated with Balma Venitia, a fragrance label rooted in the landscape around Beaumes-de-Venise, near Avignon, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail in southern France. His creative identity brings together art and perfume, with Provence providing a recurring point of inspiration. After meeting Grasse perfumer Marie Duchêne, Lemahieu’s ideas were translated into fragrances, including the eaux de parfum White Wood, Chanvre Sauvage, and L’Eau de L’Âme. Balma Venitia’s olfactory vocabulary includes recurring references to Italian lemon, Java vetiver, and nagarmotha. A 2009 legal notice records a related corporate change: Lemahieu Design became the sole shareholder of Lucie Production, whose activities included producing and commercializing cosmetics and perfumes.
