Fragrance house
Thirdman
Founded by Jean-Christophe Le Grévès, Thirdman launched its own fragrance line in late 2011 after his work across marketing, creative direction, and perfumery. Originating in New York, the brand developed around a modern reinterpretation of eau de cologne, with minimal compositions intended for individual use and for everyone rather than gendered categories. Its Eau Contemporaine concept paired freshness with a more lingering character and encouraged liberal application without heaviness. Le Grévès shaped the fragrances with perfumers Bruno Jovanovic and Clément Gavarry, while Jean-Marc Chaillan also collaborated on the brand’s fragrances. Eau Monumentale, the first scent, was created after Le Grévès’ grandmother’s traditional eau de cologne bottle broke in France in 2011, prompting him to recreate that experience. Eau Nomade was a finalist for Indie Fragrance of the Year at the 2014 Fragrance Foundation Awards, and Eau Inexplicable was listed as a finalist in the 2016 Indie Fragrance category. Third Man Group, LLC is the current trademark owner of THIRDMAN.
