Thomas de Monaco
Thomas de Monaco Parfums is an independent fragrance house based in Zürich, Switzerland, founded by Swiss creative director and photographer Thomas De Monaco. Before establishing it, De Monaco spent more than two decades as a photographer and creative director for luxury brands including Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Armani, Hermès, Chanel, and Cartier. The house’s origins date to around 2019, when he created a fragrance as a personal gift for creative partners whose encouragement led him to develop it for public release. Raw Gold, the first fragrance, launched in 2020 after more than three years of development, and the house was officially founded in 2022. Its creative philosophy treats perfume as an emotional and imaginative medium related to photography: the fragrance supplies an idea or feeling, while the wearer completes the image in their imagination. De Monaco’s photographic background, poetry, and minimalist design shape the brand’s visual language. Raw Gold is the house’s signature scent, expressing an autobiographical journey into his 1970s adolescence through the tension between innocence and lust. In 2024, supporters were invited to acquire shares with voting rights through the Swiss Oomnium platform. By 2025, Flowers for Future presented a collection centered on imagined forms of nature.
