To The Fairest

To The Fairest is an independent British perfumery founded in 2019 by Rebecca Rose, an art historian and former vintage-clothing dealer. Rose is its founder and creative director, and developed the brand through a collaboration with creative perfumer Penny Williams, whose earlier career included 17 years at Belmay, culminating in the role of chief perfumer, before she founded Orchadia in 2006. The name and identity draw on the Greek myth of the golden apple inscribed “to the fairest,” connecting woman as muse with beauty, knowledge, power, art, wisdom, and creation. Its fragrances take inspiration from imagined landscapes, literature, and love, treating scent as mood and creative expression. Ordre Cosmique, the second eau de parfum, launched in 2021, followed by Aubine, the third scent, in summer 2022. Cécile, the first fragrance, was identified in a 2024 interview as the brand’s best-selling fragrance; its profile moves from bergamot and mandarin through dewy rose to a warm, powdery base with amber and clove bud.
