Fragrance house
Tom Ford
Tom Ford founded his own label after serving as creative director of Gucci and holding a concurrent creative and communications role at Yves Saint Laurent; he left the Gucci Group at the end of his contract in 2004. The brand evolved from initial beauty, fragrance, and eyewear partnerships into menswear in 2006–2007 and womenswear in 2010. Tom Ford Beauty, created with Estée Lauder, launched in 2006 with a luxury fragrance before expanding into makeup and skincare. Black Orchid was the brand’s first fragrance and started its fragrance story. The Estée Lauder Companies later completed its acquisition of the Tom Ford brand.
