Tony & Tina

Founded in 1997 by Tony Gill and Cristina Bornstein, Tony & Tina was built around colour therapy, aromatherapy, positive thought, and vibrational remedies. Contemporary coverage also framed it as a conceptual art project exploring colour and its attributed emotional effects, extending the brand beyond conventional makeup into a wellness-oriented beauty identity. In 2002, Wella acquired a stake in Tony & Tina through its Cosmopolitan Cosmetics business. The following year, Cosmopolitan Cosmetics prepared Tony&Tina Vibrational Remedy, the brand’s first fragrance, for an autumn launch as part of a fuller beauty offering; it was presented as an extension of the vibrational-remedies premise, with a Holism concept and reiki-infused wellness positioning. After a 2005 sale, Tony & Tina later returned to Cristina Bornstein, who re-envisioned it as a smaller healing brand focused on handmade, energy-infused beauty oils and self-care tools. Bornstein’s book Tony & Tina’s Color Energy stands as a lasting expression of the brand’s colour-and-energy philosophy.
