Tory Burch

Tory Burch launched in New York City in February 2004 as a lifestyle concept spanning ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, and jewelry, with a small boutique on Elizabeth Street and an e-commerce site. Its design language is rooted in classic American sportswear with an eclectic sensibility, expressed through graphic prints, bold colors, and distinctive details; the business later expanded to include accessories, watches, home, and fragrance. In 2013, BDT Capital Partners and General Atlantic made minority investments in Tory Burch LLC in connection with a settlement of legal claims involving co-founder Christopher Burch. Tory Burch launched the separate Tory Sport line in 2015, which was later integrated into the main brand. From 2019, Tory Burch held the roles of executive chair and chief creative officer, and the Reva flat, introduced in 2006 and named for her mother, was relaunched. The brand’s first fragrances appeared in 2013 under an Estée Lauder Companies license; after that license ended in December 2019, Shiseido’s exclusive worldwide beauty partnership took effect on January 1, 2020.
