True Blood
True Blood is a television property that premiered on HBO in 2008, created by Alan Ball and based on Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse novels. Its public identity draws on Louisiana, human–vampire coexistence, romance, suspense, mystery, and supernatural conflict. The fragrance identity originated as a licensed beauty extension, with HBO Global Licensing partnering with Forsaken LLC. On August 9, 2012, Forsaken launched through HSN as the first HBO-linked True Blood fragrance and beauty collection, timed to the series’ fifth season. Forsaken was the collection’s signature fragrance, developed by Givaudan to translate the show’s dark supernatural world into scent. Contemporary fragrance references list it as True Blood’s sole perfume. The television series concluded on August 24, 2014, after seven seasons and 80 episodes.
