Ufo Parfums
UFO Parfums launched in 2019, founded by Los Angeles-based perfumer and olfactory artist Maxwell Williams, after Williams and the project had been producing and collaborating on perfumes since 2014. Los Angeles-based, UFO Parfums makes music-inspired, environmentally conscious, gender-spectral fragrances intended to challenge conventional definitions of perfume. Williams’s multidisciplinary practice links perfume with music, visual art, performance, research, and scent-based experiences, and has been presented at institutions and galleries including MOCA, the Institute for Art and Olfaction, Olfactory Art Keller, Galerie de Thorigny, and SEASON. The brand’s creative identity also includes collaborations with fashion labels, artists, musicians, and cultural institutions. Liquid, created with Los Angeles fashion label Come Tees, was UFO Parfums’ first commercial edition, connecting fragrance with nightlife, rave culture, music, style, and scent. In 2023, this music-and-scent practice extended into Liquadora, a scent rave presented with DJ Python and other performers during Los Angeles Scent Week.
