Urban Scents

Urban Scents was founded in Berlin in 2014 by Marie Urban Le Febvre and Alexander Urban as a small family company; its name comes from Alexander Urban’s family name. Marie Urban Le Febvre is the brand’s perfumer-creator, and its fragrances are made in-house rather than by outside perfumers. The brand developed as a fragrance-and-art project, with visual artists contributing to scent-related works and exhibitions. Its creative identity brings together Marie’s classical French perfumery training and Berlin’s multicultural, creative character. The launch line comprised five scents exploring citrus, floral, chypre, woody, and oriental directions. Vetiver Reunion was an early significant creative milestone, built around a limited source of vetiver from Réunion Island and described by Marie as personally important. Urban Scents also developed olfactory-wellness work with Charité-related specialists, creating smelling training for people affected by loss of smell. In 2023, Marie and Alexander moved from Berlin to Trieste, which Marie identified as a new source of inspiration.
