Fragrance house

Valois

Valois, also documented as Parfums Valois and Parfums Rose Valois, was a French perfume house active from the early to mid-20th century. Its public identity was linked to Rose Valois, a Paris millinery establishment founded in 1927 by Madame Fernand Cleuet, Vera Leigh, and another associate; the millinery house closed in 1970. Contemporary documentation connects the fashion house with the associated fragrance name, linking its identity to both millinery and perfume. In 1967, Société Anonyme Rose Valois filed the CANOTIER mark in the United States for perfume and related toiletry goods. The clearest documented fragrance example is Violette, listed as a 1920 Parfums Valois fragrance and discussed through a surviving bottle regarded as a historical vintage artifact.
