Versace

Founded by Gianni Versace in 1978, Versace combines classicism with rebellion, Italian craftsmanship, sensuality, and a Mediterranean cultural vision. Gianni’s use of classical themes is embodied by the Medusa-head logo, which established the atelier’s identity. After his death in 1997, Donatella Versace led the house’s creative vision while Santo Versace handled its commercial side. Capri Holdings acquired Versace in 2018, and Prada S.p.A. completed its acquisition of the house on December 2, 2025. In fragrance, Versace is especially associated with Eros, a men’s scent launched in 2012 whose Greek-mythology campaign, Medusa bottle, and classical references connect it to the house’s wider visual language.
