Victoria's Secret
Victoria's Secret was founded in San Francisco in 1977 by Roy Raymond, who created the store after feeling awkward buying lingerie for his wife in a department store. After Ed Razek joined the company in the mid-1980s, he controlled its visual direction; his 1994 proposal led to the first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, held at New York City's Plaza Hotel in 1995 and becoming a recurring part of the brand's public image. The brand entered the body-splash fragrance era with Love Spell in 2000, a fruity-floral scent that continued to be sold. In June 2021, Victoria's Secret announced the VS Collective, a group of women intended to influence collaborations, product collections, content, and causes. On August 3, 2021, L Brands completed the spin-off of the Victoria's Secret business into Victoria's Secret & Co., an independent publicly traded company. In 2023, the brand presented The Victoria's Secret World Tour, centered on 20 global creatives from fashion, film, art, music, and visual disciplines, as a reimagining of its fashion show.
