Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh is a fragrance line launched in 1989 by Dutch personal-care company Royal Sanders under licence, dedicated to the artist and his work. Royal Sanders is the line’s parent company and traces its corporate origins to 1851, when pharmacist Nicolaas Sanders founded it in Leiden to produce medical, household, and shaving soap. The original line is documented through editions spanning 1989 to 1998, with five fragrances recorded under the Vincent van Gogh name. Grand Fleuri is the clearest specifically documented defining example of that line. A later public expression of Van Gogh-inspired scent came through Floral Street’s official collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum, which presented two collections translating the artist’s works and relationship with nature into fragrance. Sunflower Pop is inspired by Sunflowers, while Sweet Almond Blossom is inspired by Almond Blossom, extending the Vincent van Gogh fragrance identity into museum-sanctioned art-and-fragrance projects.
