Fragrance house
Voluspa
Voluspa was launched in 1999 by Troy Arntsen and his then-life partner Traci, beginning in a California kitchen. Its name comes from an ancient Norse poem and is associated by its founders with beauty created from chaos. From its first handcrafted collection, the brand developed a broader home-fragrance identity built around scent exploration, expressive artistry, and decorative vessels. Voluspa treats fragrance, packaging, glass, color, and artwork as one integrated product experience. Product designer Jimmy Tea, who had worked with the brand for 20 years by 2025, shaped Noble Fir Garland; Forbes identified the launch as Voluspa’s most successful to date, and the brand calls it its number-one holiday fragrance. Voluspa is privately owned and operated under Arntsen’s guidance, while Traci is no longer with the company. At the end of 2024, Voluspa entered its first major branded partnership through an official fragrance collection connected to the film Wicked.
