Wala

Wala began in Bhavnagar in 1950, when Shri Naranji Wala founded Wala & Company. The business operated under that name until 1980; the wider Wala Group was formed in 2011, bringing together Wala & Co., Wala Inc., Wala Fragrances Pvt. Ltd., Shresht Fragrances, and Saibaba Agencies. Privately owned since its formation, Wala works across industrial fragrances and end-user perfumes, supplying fragrance compounds for fine fragrance, personal care, cleaning, household, and oral-care applications. Its development included non-alcoholic attars in the early 1960s, followed by aerosol sprays and exports to Saudi Arabia and other Asia-Pacific regions; the company also records receiving Chemexcil’s highest-export award in 1980. The group’s industrial-perfume and aromatic-chemical work continues through Ariwa, a joint venture between Arihant Trading Company and Wala Group of Companies. A separate Wala Perfumery Works brand produces incense, dhoop, and roll-ons, with Ashok Chandan described as a popular choice since the founder’s time.
