Fragrance house
Welton London
Welton London was founded by John-Paul Welton, who began his own home-scent and custom home-decoration business in 2003 after leaving the corporate world. Its early development combined home fragrance with interior design: the Onyx Collection was its first home-fragrance collection, followed by the seven-fragrance Olfactory Journey collection. In 2007, the Maison & Objet fair generated approaches from French fashion houses, leading to candle projects for Dior and Christian Lacroix and collaborations connected with Courrèges and Karl Lagerfeld. Welton London became a fully fledged perfume company in 2012 with the launch of its first eau de toilette collection, followed by the opening of its first Paris flagship boutique in late 2013. Its creative identity centers on travel-inspired, unisex fragrance and connections between London, Western culture, and the Middle East; Welton works in Grasse and creates the collections in France. The brand is a wholly owned trademark of WELTON DESIGN (UK) LTD, an active UK company incorporated in 2002. Secret Amber, which began as a home scent before becoming a perfume, is described as the most popular of the brand’s seven perfumes, while Onyx is its signature home-fragrance range.
