White Satin

White Satin is a Yardley fragrance rather than an independent perfume house, with reference listings placing its release in 1984 or 1985. Created by the English company Yardley, it belongs to a house whose history is traced to 1770, when the Cleaver family founded the business that became Yardley London. Yardley’s public identity has long centered on English soap and perfumery, including English lavender as a signature scent. White Satin was associated with Fine Fragrances & Cosmetics during its original period; after Yardley entered receivership in 1998, the Yardley name was sold to Wella while women’s brands including White Satin were sold separately to Fine Fragrances & Cosmetics. The fragrance’s own identity is a soft white-flower floral parfum de toilette, with green and musk aspects and additional sweet and powdery descriptors.
