Widian

Widian is an Abu Dhabi fragrance house founded by Emirati entrepreneur Ali Aljaberi. The business was established in 2011 and launched its first fragrances in 2014 as AJ Arabia, later adopting the Widian name, Arabic for “valleys.” Aljaberi left a corporate career, including work as a chemical engineer at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, to develop the house through traditional Arabian materials and study of haute parfumerie in Paris, combining Arabian perfumery traditions with French techniques. Rooted in Abu Dhabi’s desert landscape, cultural heritage, and Eastern-Western influences, Widian pairs rich spices and bold ingredients with citrus and florals; its bottles and packaging draw on the domes, arches, and intricate lines of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The privately held brand is owned by AJ Arabia Enterprise and based in Abu Dhabi. Its fragrance structure spans Black, Gold, Velvet, Sapphire, Rose Arabia, and Limited collections. London, launched in 2018 as the first Sapphire scent in a city-themed concept, was described in 2024 as Widian’s bestselling fragrance.
