X-Ray
X-Ray Profumo was founded by Ray Burns in 2012 as a niche fragrance line. Its initial launch, introduced exclusively through Barneys, comprised Delirium, Morphine, and Resurrextion. Burns conceived the collection as a way to transport wearers through stories, memories, and places, with early scents tied to 1960s London, 1970s New York, and 1950s southern Italy. By October 2012, Plastique and Lacquered Rose were available, while Tantrum was described as an upcoming fragrance inspired by the South of France. In 2014, the brand launched Amnesia under the name RXR Profumo, with a concept centered on Ibiza summers and nightlife. In the United States, the brand was reported under the RXR Profumo name and used packaging different from that in other markets. Burns, whose work included cosmetics and fragrance, including a period with François Nars, is identified as X-Ray’s creator.
