Xerjoff
Founded in Turin in 2007 by Sergio Momo and Dominique Salvo, Xerjoff was conceived around the idea of presenting perfume as an artwork enclosed in another artwork. Its first collection, 17/17 Stone Label, appeared that year, followed by Shooting Stars in 2009. Salvo designed the house’s signature cap, drawing on the ancient Egyptian Deshret, or Red Crown, while Xerjoff’s creative philosophy joins a fragrance’s inspiration, formulation, and flacon in a single expressive work, balancing classical perfumery traditions with newer extraction technologies and unconventional concepts. In 2009, Momo also revived Casamorati, the Italian perfume house founded in Bologna in 1888, bringing it into the Xerjoff Group while retaining its historical flacon design; the group’s development company changed into Xerjoff Group S.p.A. in 2018. Momo remains publicly identified as Xerjoff’s founder and creative force, drawing inspiration from music, art, travel, cars, food, and champagne. The house has also developed multisensory scent-and-music projects, including two Blends fragrances with Duran Duran. Naxos and Erba Pura are listed among its best sellers, with Naxos tied to Sicily through the 1861 collection.
