Youghazi Fragrance Collection
Youghazi Fragrance Collection was founded in 2010 by South African entrepreneur Rushana Meyer Du Toit. The business began with a personal problem: after commercial hair-loss treatments failed, Meyer developed a hair treatment that attracted demand from family and friends. In December 2010, she entered a Mercedes-Benz-sponsored Youth Entrepreneurship Programme, won first prize, and received an award on 11 February 2011. After completing entrepreneurship training in Nevada that year, Meyer decided to create Youghazi’s own oil-based fragrances, work that led her toward perfumery. The brand’s identity combines South African roots with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences, while its hand-poured and blended products extend beyond personal fragrance into home fragrance. Oud has a prominent place in its fragrance architecture, with dedicated Oud Fragrances and Aswad sections. Black Oud is one of the brand’s developed oud expressions, described through agarwood, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, labdanum, rosewood, incense rose, and velvety rose.
