Yves Rocher

Yves Rocher created his eponymous brand in 1959 in La Gacilly, Brittany, beginning with plant-based cosmetics sold by mail order. The business expanded into physical and international distribution: its first Paris store opened in 1969, followed by Belgium, its first international market, in 1970. The brand’s public identity is built around botanical cosmetics and access to plant-based beauty across skincare, makeup, and fragrances. In 1975, Yves Rocher established the La Gacilly Botanical Garden as an open-air laboratory and center for plant preservation, study, and botanical knowledge. The Yves Rocher Foundation was created by Jacques Rocher in 1991 and developed the brand family’s biodiversity and nature-conservation identity. In 2019, Groupe Rocher became a mission-driven company focused on reconnecting people with nature, while Yves Rocher’s stated mission is to reveal, protect, and transmit the power of plants. In fragrance, Comme Une Évidence is presented as the signature collection, with a floral chypre profile built around rose, bergamot, and patchouli.
