Zanini

Based in Prato, Italy, Zanini develops fragrances through the idea of “smellscapes”—olfactory landscapes that bring together scents, aromas and sensations associated with real or imagined places. Filippo Zanini is the brand’s creative perfumer, having worked on smellscapes for about a decade before the venture began in 2023. The house uses natural raw materials and traditional harvesting and processing methods, presenting its fragrances in handmade, uniquely numbered bottles and producing limited-edition projects in quantities below 1,000 units annually. In 2023, Filippo Zanini received International Perfume Foundation New Luxury Awards recognition in the student category for Principio and Dafne-Meli. Rosa Umami, released in 2024, offers Zanini’s interpretation of the rose through a composition pairing rose with miso, seaweed and hemp; production was limited to 38 pieces. A 2025 independent-perfumery expo profile presented Zanini as an artisan house focused on handmade, small-batch fragrances, its smellscape concept and its use of natural materials.
