Zegna
Zegna traces its origins to 1910, when Ermenegildo Zegna founded a wool mill in Trivero, in Italy’s Piedmont region. The business began as a fabric maker, sourcing natural fibres internationally, weaving them in Italy, and exporting the finished cloth. In 1968, his sons Aldo and Angelo diversified into ready-to-wear, shifting the company from textiles toward a lifestyle brand; its ready-to-wear was shown at Pitti in 1976. The company remained a family business across generations, while the third generation founded Oasi Zegna in 1993 to conserve the environment and natural resources around Trivero. The group acquired a majority stake in Thom Browne in 2018. During 2021–2022, Ermenegildo Zegna, Z Zegna, and Ermenegildo Zegna XXX were consolidated into the single ZEGNA brand, accompanied by a new logo and signifier. Under Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori, ZEGNA’s creative identity shifted toward luxury leisurewear, connecting practicality and innovation with tailoring tradition.
